2010 Prius
The smallest Prius has become the symbol of the entire class of hybrid vehicles and a symbol of environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.
Toyota expects to sell 400,000 of the vehicles in 2010, the Toyota Prius hopes sales will compare to the
Camry, the country’s best-selling car. Consumers bought 436,617 Camry last year.
At its inauguration, a silver 2010 Prius led up the aisle at the Cobo Center Riverview.
Toyota promises that the new Prius will score an EPA rating of 50 mpg in combined city and highway usage, from a combined figure of the EPA 46 mpg for the current model.
Bob Carter, general manager of Toyota, said it is “one of the highest mileage cars sold in America.”
