Uremic Poisoning

Uraemia the term was first used in 1847 to describe the symptoms of kidney failure. Doctors saw 150 years ago, patients with urine output, and thought that the urine instead of going in the blood – - uraemia means “blood contaminated with the urine.” We now know that this is false – patients with renal failure have no urine flowing in their blood. However, the terms or uremia uremic poisoning have persisted, and now means that the symptoms that patients feel when they have kidney failure.
