David Warner Aussie Debut

You may be saying who “the hell is that ? ” and tomorrow he will be the talk of the cricketting world, basically he’s a young man at the ripe age of 22 from NSW (I think), he hasn’t played a game of cricket in first class – yet – but he was elevated from his club team to the Australian team VS South Africa – he even skipped selection from the NSW team …. yup that’s right straight from Club cricket to the Aussie team.

Now picture the young man playing a 20/20 in front of a crowd of 70 000 screaming fans at the MCG, bewildered, excited, nervous and living a dream …. the best part …. he smashed 50 runs from 19 Balls and then went on to make 89 off about 40 balls – with a strike rate of 220%+.

Along the way he smashed 6 sixes, just as many fours and clobbered the ball around the ground …. really was a delight to see …. the rest of the Aussies failed in comparison with the next highest score barely reaching 20.

Oh and yeah the Aussies went on to win by 50 runs ….

The future for David Warner is likely to be in the IPL – he’s already signed with the Delhi Devils – I think his value just went up and even more astonishing is that Warner isn’t even in the One day Aussie team for this summer.

Look out India when the IPL begins …. look out for the smashing David Warner.
