Costa Rica Earthquake
A 6.1 (on the Richter Scale) Earthquake has shaken Costa Rica (on Thursday the 7th/8th of January 2009), currently no damage, injuries or deaths have been reported, the US Geological Survey has reported that the earthquake was centered about 35 kilometers underground and 35 kilometers north of the Costa Rican capital San Jose, where the tremor was most strongly felt.
The earthquake was reported at 1:21 pm (1921 GMT) and caused considerable panic in San Jose, with the local residents rushing out of the effected buildings.
